Our school is dedicated to doing what we can to create a safe, healthy environment while still retaining the integrity of our program and providing the best possible preschool experience for our students. We are following the guidelines laid out by the Washington Department of Health. Here are a few of our current steps to limit the spread of COVID-19.
- Hand washing and hand sanitizing. Children wash hands when entering the building and before they eat snack. Hand sanitizer will be used before and after leaving the studio space for dance/music, between classroom activities/works, after blowing nose, and as necessary with face touching.
- Children bring their own snack and water bottle.
- Plenty of cleaning and sanitizing! Works, tables and chairs, shelves, and commonly touched surfaces will be wiped down frequently, and cloth surfaces laundered.
- Children will be given their own space as much as possible. With young children, especially preschoolers, interacting with other students and teachers is essential to their development. We recognize that at this age it is not always possible or developmentally appropriate to expect children to physically distance. However, we encourage when appropriate.
- Mask wearing for staff and students. We encourage our students to wear their masks during the school day, only removing them for snack in which they are spaced away from other students.
- In case of a new mandate that would require us to stop in-person learning, a "plan B" has been developed to continue education virtually.
